Miss Buford Pageant is the primary fundraiser for the Buford High School Choral Music Department. Miss Buford began in 1947 as a fundraising activity for the senior class. All senior girls were expected to participate until 1984, at which time participation became optional. The pageant has maintained its importance within the Buford community and has grown in stature to include scholarship awards. Currently, the Miss Buford Scholarship Program is the center for fundraising activity providing scholarships at Buford High School. The Miss Buford Program also provides excellent opportunities for young ladies to enhance valuable life skills, as demonstrated through our interview process and opportunities for volunteerism. In the Miss Buford Pageant, contestants compete for the opportunity to represent the City of Buford, Georgia, for one year through public appearances, community service, and volunteerism as Honorary Ambassadors to the Community. It is the goal of the Miss Buford Board of Director to find young ladies within each grade level who will best represent their peers as role models for future generations and carry on the legacy of the honor of being named Miss Buford.
