The Presidential Volunteer Service Award is given on behalf of the White House and the President’s Council on Civic Service and Volunteerism to Miss Buford Representatives who have attained a certain number of volunteer hours within the pageant year. All Miss Buford girls are eligible to participate in volunteer opportunities made available through our program throughout the year of service, and are recognized by the Buford City Schools Board of Education as Honorary Ambassadors to the Community.
Volunteer events have included: Becca's Closet Atlanta, Golden Soldiers' BIG DAY OUT!, Special Olympics, American Red Cross, Caroling for Cans (for Gwinnett Co-Op), Miss Atlanta and Miss Historic Buford Pageants, Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Queen for a Day, Relay for Life, Read with a Queen (our original event with Gwinnett County Public Library), Happy Hearts Club Respite Care for the Caregiver, Ryan and Laela 5K, Run the Rails: Historic Buford 5/10K, Cops on Doughnut Shops Fundraisers (for Special Olympics), Buford Fall Festival, Trick-or-Treating for Unicef, Samaritan's Purse, Bullying Prevention Week, American Legion Christmas, Military Causes, Local Nursing Homes, and many others! In an effort to promote literacy and summer reading among elementary age students, the Miss Buford girls are pleased to present their original community event, Read with a Queen, a royal story and craft time for community youngsters in cooperation with the Buford City School System and the Gwinnett County Public Library System.

Miss Buford volunteers passed out water to participants in the Ryan & Laela 5k benefitting Sanfilippo Syndrome Research on behalf of one of the members of our Miss Buford family.
Miss Buford Girls are encouraged to maintain a running log of their volunteer hours throughout their year of service. In order to be considered for the Presidential Volunteer Service Award, service hours must be entered onto the PVSA website and certified documentation of volunteer hours must be received by our office by December 31 annually on our official form:
